 A Zimbabwe native\, Tavonga obtained a B.S. in Mechanical Engineer
 ing from the University of Arizona and later an M.E. in Systems Engineerin
 g from Iowa State University.
 He started his career with John Deere in 2
 008 and had a wide range of engineering\, product marketing\, and program 
 management experiences over the years. Mostly with the JD Intelligent Solu
 tions Group\, based out of Des Moines\, Iowa. But also a period at the Dee
 re HQ for Sub-Saharan Africa.
 Since 2021\, Tavonga has been at Google’
 s moonshot factory. And through Project Mineral\, work with partner compan
 ies to bring the latest in ML/AI to advance sustainable agriculture around
  the world.
